You're reading: Ukrposhta receives customs broker license, to provide custom cargo declarations services

PJSC Ukrposhta has received a customs broker license and from October 10 started providing services for goods subject to customs clearance to exporters and importers.

According to a posing on the company’s website, customers of the national postal operator, which cooperates with 192 countries of the world, can now also receive a service for the preparation of custom cargo declarations as part of the basic service of Ukrposhta for international delivery.

The press service of the company told the Interfax-Ukraine that the new brokerage service is mainly focused on exporters and will allow ordering the necessary permits required for importing certain goods to certain countries in Ukrposhta.

“For example, to send the seeds of plants you need a conclusion on phytosanitary control, to send jewelry – the conclusion of a gemologist, to send pictures – the conclusion of the Ministry of Culture. This is despite the fact that Ukrposhta as a member of the Universal Postal Union and partner of 192 countries has special customs clearance and shipping rules that also simplify work for most categories of goods,” the company’s press service said.

The company did not name the tariffs for these services but said that Ukrposhta’s specialists will provide most of the consulting services for free, namely, preparing documents for accreditation at customs offices, advising clients on the correct selection of the customs code of the international database and other things.
