State-owned railway monopoly Ukrzaliznytsia introduced new routes to improve connections with the European Union.

The company added train tickets to such European cities as Budapest, Vienna, and Peremyshl. The tickets will be available at railway booking offices and train stations starting from Dec. 2, according to the railway service’s press service. However, the tickets are not yet available online through the national online buying ticket system at www.booking.uz.gov.ua.

Ticket prices will fluctuate with the value of the euro. Now Ukrzaliznytsia uses the Hr 31.1 to the euro rate. Check the list of directions below.

The railway service also introduced several new directions in fall and winter, starting Dec. 10, that will connect Ukraine with its western neighbors.

The first direct connection from Austria will take around 23 hours to reach Ukraine’s capital. The train will stop in Budapest, Hungary, and the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. Current price for the whole trip is Hr 2,505 ($92). The tickets on Austrian Federal Railways and Ukrzaliznytsia websites are not available for sale yet.
