You're reading: World Bank worsens Ukraine’s GDP forecast for 2019 to 2.9 percent

The World Bank has reviewed downwards its forecast for Ukraine’s GDP growth in 2019 from 3.5 percent to 2.9 percent, according to the Global Economic Prospects (GEP).

According to the document, the World Bank predicts that Ukraine’s GPD growth in 2020 would be 3.4 percent and in 2021 – 3.8 percent.

The World Bank estimates that Ukraine’s GDP growth in 2018 was 3.5 percent.

The World Bank said that global economic growth is projected to soften from a downwardly revised 3 percent in 2018 to 2.9 percent in 2019 amid rising downside risks to the outlook. In 2020-2021, global economic growth is expected to ease to 2.8 percent as trade and investment will weaken.
