Communication Specialist

As a service provider to colleagues in the IIPU projects the communications specialist covers the following areas of responsibility:

Content generation and publications

  • Identify and conceptualize stories based on IIPU activities
  • Write press releases, news, articles and texts for brochures
  • Generate content for other media (e.g. on-line and video)
  • Develop, plan and implement communications materials
  • Manage publication processes

External relations

  • Respond to external information requests
  • Design, plan and coordinate media activities for projects (press conferences, press trips, etc.)
  • Liaise with media representatives and external partners, establish and maintain network and distribution list
  • Tailor and distribute information materials to different target groups

Project management

  • Participate in strategic planning for IIPU communications and in implementation of strategy
  • Design, plan and implement communications activities
  • Advise colleagues in IIPU projects re communications
  • Plan, organise and implement events
  • Coordinate external service providers
  • Monitor and evaluate communications activities

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from a recognised university
  • Three to five years of experience in communications
  • Working knowledge of English; German would be an asset. Russian and Ukrainian are required.
  • Excellent communications skills and proven writing skills
  • Strong conceptual, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working in an international team
  • Good self-organization and prioritization skills, service-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to develop qualifications as required
  • Willingness to travel
  • Working knowledge of IT (MS Office, phone, email, internet, publishing software would be an asset)

We offer a full-time position with 40 working hours per week on a one-year contract (extension possible). Start date is 1 September 2017.
