The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry expects that grain exports from Ukraine will considerably expand in November-December 2011, Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told the press in Kyiv on Thursday.

"I think that in November-December grain exports will significantly grow," he said, adding that at present Ukraine has exported slightly over three million of grain.

Prysiazhniuk said that now the situation on the foreign markets is favorable.

"We see that Russia wants to start regulating exports and the prices on international markets are gradually growing," the minister added.

He said that this marketing year Ukraine is planning to export 25-27 million tonnes of grain.

As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on October 19 signed law amending the Ukrainian law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and on duties on exports of certain types of grain crops. The parliament passed the law on October 7, 2011.

The law retains the duty on exports of barley.

The document takes effect next day after its publication.

From this July 1 to next January 1, Ukraine has export duties on exports of wheat (9%, but not less than EUR 17 per tonne), of corn (12%, but not less than EUR 20 per tonne), and of barley (14%, but not less than EUR 23 per tonne).
