You're reading: Average price for Ukrainian gas imports remains at $268.5 in March

The average customs price of gas imported by Ukraine in March 2014 was $268.51 per 1,000 cubic meters, the same as in February, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said on its Web site. The March average coincides with the reduced price for Russian gas deliveries in the first quarter based on what Russia and Ukraine agreed upon in December 2013.

This figure is taken as the actual price of gas produced in Ukraine when calculating fees for the use of mineral resources, or royalties.

In addition, the ministry said the March price for domestically produced oil (used for calculating oil royalties) was Hr 8,517.36 per tonne, 12.6% more than in February (Hr 7,564.31 per tonne).

The parliament in July 2012 passed a law according to which the Economic Development and Trade Ministry from the beginning of 2013 should monthly, prior to the 10th day, publish the average customs value of imported gas for the previous period.

The exchange rate on April 14 was Hr 12.97709 per U.S. dollar.
