Ukraine has pumped a sufficient amount of natural gas into its underground gas storage facilities for this winter in order to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to Ukrainian consumers, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"We’ve pumped a sufficient amount of gas for the winter, the reserve of which will help provide our people with gas without interruption in 2012," he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.

When asked by a Facebook user how long Ukraine will manage to withstand the current gas price formula, he said: "There is no definite answer to this question. A lot depends on how the situation develops in the world, and respectively, in Ukraine. But we expect that in a limited period of time we will find a common language with our Russian partners. And we will have enough reserves of strength for this limited time."
