The Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry estimated the volume of grain exported from Ukraine as of October 27 at 4.4 million tons since the beginning of the 2011/2012 marketing season (July 2011 through June 2012). The head of the ministry's department for agriculture, Oleksandr Demydov, said that Ukraine had exported 1.699 million tons of wheat, 1.822 million tons of barley, 847,000 tons of corn, and 684,000 tons of oil-bearing crops.
