You're reading: Expert: Many luxury apartments in Kyiv up for sale

The number of luxury apartments put up for sale from late October 2013 grew by 40 percent, Head of the sales department of the Park Stone residential complex Dmytro Shostia told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the analytical center of the sales department that used
information from partner real estate agencies, the owners of luxury
apartments, in particular, one apartment worth from $500,000, are
planning to sell their property.

“Apartments in mainly downtown Kyiv are up for sale, in particular,
on Shelkovychna, Insttytutska, Bankova, Sadova, Kruhlouniversytetska,
Schorsa and Drahomirova streets. Obolon district is practically not
present in the structure of supply of luxury apartments put up for
sale,” Shostia said.

The expert also said that from November sales of luxury country
estates were up. Often houses in Obukhiv and Boryspil districts with a
gross area of over 350 square meters with land plots from 30 hundred
square meters and high-quality decoration and additional buildings on
the territory are put up for sale.

“These houses cost from $1 million on the market,” he said.

As for demand on luxury apartments in Kyiv, he said that buyers are
ready to buy expensive houses and apartments with at least 20-25 percent
discount from the declared price.

“Sellers have to accept the conditions, as the market is
oversaturated, and many facilities are put up for sale with the ‘urgent
sake’ sign,” the expert said.

He said that it is hard to predict the number of real deals on the
market, as the segment of buyers is very narrow. Now there is no a flow
of rich citizens from the regions, which generated demand on luxury
apartments and houses. The expert believes that no more than 20-30 percent of
apartments will be sold by late January 2014.
