Swiss-based RosUkrEnergo AG has transferred $1.7 billion of the debt, assigned by Russia's Gazprom to National JSC Naftogaz Ukrainy in 2009, to Naftogaz, founder and head of the board of directors of Group DF Dmytro Firtash said in an interview to the Focus magazine that has to be published on December 10.
"The company has repaid a debt of $1.7 billion to Naftogaz Ukrainy and a debt of $810 million to OAO Gazprom. In addition, Naftogaz got $450 million for the transit and storage of RUE’s gas that had been withdrawn by the government of Yulia Tymoshenko and that the company had not been able to use for nearly two years," according to a posting on the magazine’s Web site with reference to Firtash.
