The Industrial Milk Company (IMC) sold more than 705,000 tonnes of grain and oilseeds in the 2014/15 marketing year (MY, July through June), which was 37 percent year-over-year; and about 85 percent, or more than 600,000 tonnes, was exported, the company said in a statement.

The share of exports continues to grow, the company said.

“The export orientation of the grown crops is one of the key components of our strategy. Due to a significant share of exports in the sales mix, IMC manages to neutralize the negative impact of the devaluation of the Ukrainian currency and demonstrate good financial results even in times of economic crisis,” the statement quotes IMC CEO Alex Lissitsa as saying.

IMC Commercial Director Olena Krysenko said that IMC had increased sales significantly due to the expansion of the company during 2013-2014, and growth of its land bank, yields of crops and production of grain and oilseeds.

IMC cultivates grains, oilseeds and potatoes. It is also one of the largest milk producers in Ukraine. The company owns storage capacity of 554,000 tonnes of grains and oilseeds. Its land bank is 136,700 hectares.
