Ukraine will harvest 52-53 million tonnes of grain in 2011, First Vice Prime Minister for Economic Development and Trade Andriy Kliuyev said at parliament on Thursday.

He said that that the forecast for the grain harvest at 54 million tonnes stipulated in the program of the country’s social and economic development for 2012 is realistic. But it will require the united efforts of the government and parliament, the vice premier said.

According to Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry, the country’s grain harvest this year should top 50-51 million tonnes compared to 39.3 million tonnes in 2010.
