Vice Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov has said that after the Euro 2012 European Football Championship is held in Ukraine, there will be an international audit of all assets spent on the preparations for the tournament.

"We have a preliminary agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers on carrying out an overall audit of each facility after the championship. We will receive an international conclusion and send it to the archive for future generations," he said in Kyiv on Monday.

Kolesnikov stressed that the Infrastructure Ministry holds a quarterly audit on each facility being prepared for Euro 2012. When asked whether he could face prosecution in future, as the Ukrainian opposition is at the moment, Kolesnikov said that the previous authorities had improperly prepared for Euro 2012.

"Our predecessors created a situation that has not been seen in sports history since the 1960s, when a country received the right to host the championship and was [almost] deprived of it," the minister said.
