This summer was a great time for those Ukrainians who often use their mobile phones as personal navigators. Kyivstar, in partnership with Yandex, offered free Internet connection for those who use Yandex maps in their phone.

Kyivstar announce on its website at the beginning of September that it would prolong the offer until the end of October.

Users won’t be charged for loading maps and traffic info when using Yandex Maps on their mobile devices through Kyivstar network. Yandex Maps is a decent rival to Google Maps, its more famous competitor.

If you are a Kyivstar subscriber, all you have to do to use this generous offer is to install the latest version of Yandex Maps.

If you are using an iPhone or Android device, just search for Yandex Maps in the App Store or Android Market. Owners of other devices will have to visit the Yandex website for instructions.
The Kyiv Post is hosting comments to foster lively public debate through the Disqus system. Criticism is fine, but stick to the issues. Comments that include profanity or personal attacks will be removed from the site. The Kyiv Post will ban flagrant violators. If you think that a comment or commentator should be banned, please flag the offending material.
