You're reading: Lufthansa and Odesa airport to launch regular Odesa-Munich flights

Odesa International Airport at 18:10 on May 5 received the first flight of Lufthansa from Munich.

According to the press service of the airport, regular flights on the Odesa-Munich route will be performed on Saturdays.

"Odesa is a promising direction for expanding the route network of our company. Taking into account the existing demand for such flights, we decided to resume transportation to Odesa. The flight to Munich is the first step in our strategic partnership," reads a statement citing Lufthansa CEO in Ukraine Harald Hahn.

Lufthansa Group is a German airline specializing in passenger transportation, which was founded in 1926 and today unites some 400 subsidiaries and branches. The group includes Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Germanwings.

Lufthansa Group’s fleet consists of more than 720 aircraft. Lufthansa is the founder of the global airline association Star Alliance, carries about 100 million people a year across the world.

Odesa International Airport is a joint venture created in November 2011 by Odesa City Council and private investor Odesa Airport Development, which is financing the construction of a new airport terminal and infrastructure worth $45 million.
