Lukoil is planning to sign an agreement on upstream after the adoption of new tax legislation in Iran, the oil company's head, Vagit Alekperov, told journalists.

“Everything depends on the legislation that is presented to investors. The new legislation will be offered to investors operating in Iran on the 19th,” he said.

“We have reached agreement with the Iranian petroleum minister to hold another meeting in December in Vienna on the eve of the OPEC meeting. We have identified a host of projects that are of interest to us. The Petroleum Ministry and the national company have once more confirmed their interest in our company’s activities,” Alekperov said.

“I hope that as soon as the tax legislation is proposed, we will in a fairly short time arrive at the signing of an agreement on the detailed study of sites,” he said.
