Repair of a runway at the Luhansk airport scheduled for 2012 will cost Hr 52 million, the press service of Luhansk regional administration has reported, referring to the head of the transport and communications department, Eduard Romanovsky.

He said that the runway should be repaired so that the airport could service all types of aircraft.

"Head of Luhansk regional administration Volodymyr Prystiuk has asked the Ukrainian cabinet to help in the financing of the project," the press service said, citing Romanovsky.

In addition, he said that in 2011 Luhansk airport serviced 899 aircraft, including 348 charter flights, 240 flights on the Luhansk-Kyiv-Luhansk route and 311 flights on the Luhansk-Moscow-Luhansk route.
