Experts from Russia's Consumer Rights Protection Service (Rospotrebnadzor) are to start checking Ukrainian cheese producers whose products have been banned for export to Russia on March 19, Ivan Bisiuk, the chairman of the State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine, said at a press conference in Kyiv on March 13.

According to him, Rospotrebnadzor informed the Ukrainian side about its intention to check Hadiachsyr on March 19-21, and th Prometei and Pyriatyn dairy plants on March 26-30.

Bisiuk said that the negotiation process with Rospotrebnadzor "has very positive dynamics."

He also expressed hope that the Russian side would inspect other cheese makers of Ukraine and cancel the ban on supplies of Ukrainian cheese to the Russian market.

On February 27, the Russian consumer rights watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, extended the blacklist of Ukrainian cheese suppliers to seven companies. Apart from Prometei, Pyriatyn and Hadiachsyr, the list also included the Bashtanska cheese factory, the Lozova cheese factory, Bel Shostka Ukraine and the Khmelnytsky Butter and Cheese Factory.
