You're reading: Software developer Innovecs accepts payments in bitcoins

Innovecs, a Ukrainian-American software development company, now accepts payments in bitcoins via the BitPay platform, reports tech blog AIN.UA.

The platform will automatically convert US dollar amounts into bitcoins. The corresponding invoice is sent to the client along with a QR code including the payment details. The bitcoins are transferred to Innovecs’s account and then converted into dollars — which will ultimately be wired to the company’s bank account in the USA.

Upon request, Innovecs’s employees may also receive their salary in bitcoins — even though this may generate extra work for the accountants, the company acknowledges.

“Accepting bitcoins is a logical step for us: As we develop systems using the Blockchain technology, some major bitcoin startups may become our clients,” said Mikhail Chobanyan, who heads the company’s Blockchain and Fintech Division. “These companies are used to making transactions in bitcoins.”

Chobanyan is also a co-founder of Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine (BFU).

Last month Innovecs launched a Blockchain R&D center in Kyiv, aiming to explore this technology’s potential and develop commercial applications.

Innovecs is not the first company to accept bitcoins in Ukraine. Just one year ago, online flower shop SendFlowers and legal firm Juscutum became Bitcoin pioneers in the country.
