You're reading: Ukraine exports electricity worth $442 million in 9 months

Ukraine in January-September 2012 exported electricity worth $442.039 million, the State Statistics Service has reported.

The service said that supplies of electricity from Burshtyn thermal
power plant to Hungary, Slovakia and Romania came to $187.377 million,
$34.79 million to Poland, $178.705 million to Belarus and $41.145
million to Moldova.

The electricity exports in kind presented by the State Statistics
Service differ from those presented by the Energy and Coal Industry
Ministry.

According to the service, in the first nine months of 2012 Ukraine
exported 6.86 billion kilowatt-hours, while the ministry said that the
county exported 7.156 billion kilowatt-hours.

In January-September 2011 Ukraine exported 4.204 billion
kilowatt-hours worth $280.24 million, the State Statistics Service said.

In 2011, Ukrainian electricity exports totaled 6.322 billion kilowatt-hours worth $430.49 million.

As reported, referring to data from the Energy and Coal Industry
Ministry, Ukraine in 2011 increased electricity exports by 52.5% or
2.215 billion kilowatt-hours on 2010, to 6.433 billion kilowatt-hours.

The main exporter of Ukrainian electricity since 2011 has been DTEK
energy holding company (Skhidenergo and DTEK Power Trade), which
exported 5.092 billion kilowatt-hours in 2011. State-owned company
Ukrinterenergo also exported electricity in 2011 – 1.341 billion
kilowatt-hours (to Belarus).
