You're reading: Ukrainian business angels invest $1.6 million in 21 deals in 2015

While celebrating its first anniversary last week, the UAngel association announced that its members have closed no fewer than 60 deals since the association inception in June 2014.

Of these deals, 21 took place in the first six months of 2015, totalling more than $1.6 million, reported Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA.

Most of these deals have not been disclosed, however.

UAngel’s investors invested in a variety of sectors — from e-commerce, to telecom, to hardware — with a predilection for software projects, the association notes.The association now gathers 24 members, including such figures of the Ukrainian venture scene as Nataliia Berezovska of Detonate Ventures, former EastLabs CEO Eveline Buchatsky, Andriy Kolodyuk (AVentures Capital, Divan.TV), and Viktoriya Tigipko (IDCEE, TA Venture). Among the association’s most active partners are venture funds Digital Future, FISON, Gravia VC and D2N8, as well as Odesa-based incubator WannaBiz.
