Public joint-stock company Ukrtelecom has decided to separate mobile communications business from the Utel subdivision and launch a new company - TriMob LLC.
"Mobile communications services in the future, when Ukrtelecom stops providing them, will be provided by telecommunications operator TriMob LLC, starting from the first day of the month following the month when the operator obtains a permit for the phone number base," reads an announcement of Ukrtelecom in the mass media.
"Consumers will be notified in advance about the date of the stoppage of the provision of services by Ukrtelecom and the start of the operations of TriMob LLC," reads the document.
The new company will provide the services under the same conditions and terms as Ukrtelecom does.
As reported, the State Property Fund of Ukraine at a tender announced in autumn 2010 sold a 92.79% stake in Ukrtelecom to the Ukrainian subsidiary of Austria’s EPIC, ESU LLC, for Hr 10.575 billion. The deal was closed in May 2011.
Ukrtelecom earlier announced plans to sell its subdivision which provides mobile communications services under the Utel brand.
