 Oil futures gained April 23 as increased violence in Ukraine renewed concerns that the West could impose sanctions on Russia, the No. 2 oil-exporting nation. Light, sweet crude for June delivery rose 72 cents, or 0.7%, to $102.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on ICE Futures Europe rose 90 cents, or 0.8%, to $110.01 a barrel. Front-month May reformulated gasoline blendstock, or RBOB, recently rose as high as $3.1128 a gallon, the highest intraday price since July 22, 2013.
