You're reading: First hotel of Fairmont chain in Eastern Europe to be opened on March 27 in Kyiv

The five-star Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv, with 258 rooms and located on the Dnipro River bank at 1A, Naberezhno-Khreschatytska Street in Kyiv, will be officially opened on March 27, 2012, reads a posting on the Web site of the Fairmont chain.

The report says that the hotel in Kyiv, which is the first hotel of the chain in Eastern Europe, accepts applications for accommodation from March 14, 2012.

The 12-storey building has 54 suits, including presidential and royal apartments. The hotel has restaurants, bars, a SPA center with a fitness center, conference halls, a ballroom and atrium.

The project was realized by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Kyiv-based Yaroslaviv Val LLC.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, headquartered in Toronto (Canada), unites over 60 luxury hotels and resorts all over the world. The Fairmont chain includes the Savoy Hotel in London, the Plaza in New York and the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai.

Fairmont is part of Holdings Limited (Fairmont Raffles Hotels International), a leader in the global hospitality industry with over 100 hotels under the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel brands.

Yaroslaviv Val LLC is engaged in the construction of commercial real estate, namely office centers and hotels. In April 2008, Yaroslaviv Val Managing Director Andriy Manzhelei reported that the cost of the hotel’s construction was about $150 million.

Yaroslaviv Val was founded by open joint-stock company Venture Closed Non-Diversified Corporate Investment Fund Unibudinvest (Kyiv), whose share in it was 95.11%, while Leonid Yurushev owned 4.74% and Natalia Yurusheva owned 0.15%.

Unibudinvest was established in 2003. Its core business is investment related to mergers and investment of investors’ funds in the securities of other issuers, corporate rights and real estate.
