Kyiv City Council has approved a strategy for the capital city's development designed to run until 2025.

A total of 89 out of 110 members of the council who attended the meeting voted to approve the document.

The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction and Vitaliy Klychko’s UDAR faction did not vote for this decision. Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov thanked deputies and said that he understood that the two factions’ refusal to vote was caused by political considerations.

"I still hope that lawmakers, including those who did not support the strategy, will work as a united team that will propel the city’s economy forward and solve the problems of Kyiv’s residents," Popov said.
