The government has allocated a large sum from the national budget to pay the compensation in the tariffs on heat and hot water, thanks to which Kyiv city will be ready to the heating season by October 1, 2012, First Deputy head of Kyiv city administration Oleksandr Mazurchak has said.

“It’s important that not only companies that produce heat will pay for gas consumed and will be stably operating during the heating season, but also the fact that Kyiv residents will pay under old tariffs. Thanks to the support of the government we will start the heating season on time and will supply heat to houses of the city’s residents,” the press service of Kyiv city administration said on Wednesday, citing Mazurchak.

Under the preparation of the city’s housing fund to winter, the installation of heat meters continues.

Mazurchak said that the installation of heat meters will allow consumers to pay for actually consumed gigacalories of heat and only in the period of the heating season.

He added that all boilers and generating facilities were repaired, they are being checked now.

“We’re working under a schedule set by the Kyiv city administration head and we’re sure that by October 1, 2012 the city will be ready to the heating season,” he said.
