Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) will propose that Kyiv City Council deputies create the department for tourism on the basis of the main department for preparing for and holding the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, KCSA Deputy Head Oleksandr Puzanov has said.
“Kyiv has hosted Euro 2012 with dignity. However, after the championship, in order to optimize the structure, the city authorities will initiate the creation of the department for tourism on the basis of the main department for Euro [2012]. I am sure that the staff potential of this department will manage to ensure the implementation a strategy for Kyiv’s development until 2025 in terms of improving the tourist attraction of the capital city,” the administration’s press service quoted Puzanov as saying.
If Kyiv City Council makes such a decision, the functions of the department for tourism and the department for hotel industry at the main department for public utilities at KCSA will be transferred to the newly formed department.
The main department for preparing for and holding the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship was created for Kyiv’s preparations for Euro 2012, which was held from June 8 to July 1, 2012.
