You're reading: Nine hotels to be opened in Kyiv by Euro 2012

Today nine hotels with 1,683 rooms are being built in Kyiv for the Euro 2012 European football championship.

The head of the tourism department of Kyiv city administration, Mykola Hrytsyk, gave the information at a meeting of the interagency city council for tourism and excursions, the press service of Kyiv city administration has reported.

According to UEFA requirements, Kyiv is to provide guests with 7,300 rooms in three-, four- and five-star hotels: 1,950 rooms in five-star hotels, 4,950 rooms in four-star hotels and 400 rooms in three-star hotels.

As of today, TUI Travel PLC (Britain), the official operator on hosting fans and participants in the Euro 2012 European Football Championship for UEFA, has signed 79 agreements on renting 6,495 rooms in hotels in Kyiv. Taking into account the hotels under construction, Kyiv could observe the UEFA requirements with extra 946 rooms.
