The belt-tightening period has ended, the foundation for the real improvement of life quality has been created in Ukraine, Ukraine Prime Minister, Regions Party Chairman Mykola Azarov said at the 13th congress of the Regions Party.
"The period of belt-tightening is over. The foundation for the real improvement of life quality has been finally created. The president has set the most responsible, the most ambitious task for the period of Ukraine’s independence before the government – to implement a new strategy in social policy," Azarov said.
He stressed that the main purpose of the new social policy should be the overcoming of social inequality that had emerged in Ukraine during the last 20 years.
According to the prime minister, it is necessary to create an efficient system of social protection, which would guarantee aid to every citizen of Ukraine.
