BROVARY – Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has described as "dirty technologies" the cases when candidates with similar surnames and identical initials are nominated in the same constituency at the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“When there appear several candidates with similar full names, I
think, these are absolutely dirty technologies. These are absolutely
dirty technologies that are aimed at deceiving our people and voters,”
he told journalists in Brovary (Kyiv region) on Monday, Aug. 27.

Azarov stressed that he has negative attitude towards such
technologies and added that the election legislation of Ukraine cannot
forbid a citizen of the country to put up his or her candidacy and be
registered as a candidate at the elections.

He added that the Regions Party will never use such technologies, as people will assess the results it has achieved.
