The Batkivschyna Party has filed over 2,000 lawsuits against the results of local elections, first deputy leader of the party has said.

"Our campaign staff have filed more than 2,000 complaints to the courts… It is clear that the courts in our country are in no hurry to issue rulings… We will not stop the fight and will do everything to protect the [election] result," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

According to Turchynov, most of the claims either request that the election results be declared invalid, or demand a recount of votes at certain polling stations.

The politician said that most complaints concern Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, and Vinnytsia regions.
