Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule started a meeting in Kyiv on Monday.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that journalists were present only during their greetings speech.
The commissioner addressed the Ukrainian president in Russian.
Journalists were able to hear Yanukovych expressing the words of gratitude to Fule.
Then the meeting continued in a tete-a-tete format.
