KHARKIV – Leader of the Front for Change Party Arseniy Yatseniuk is not likely to receive permission to meet with former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, Head of the Kachanivska Penal Colony Ivan Pervushkin has said.

"The meeting is most likely not to be allowed," he told reporters in Kharkiv on April 18.

According to Pervushkin, Yatseniuk received an explanation that a meeting with Tymoshenko could be held only in a room for short meetings at the administrative building of the colony. The same information was passed to the ex-premier. According to the head of the colony, Tymoshenko said she could not reach the room for meetings by herself. Pervushkin said that it is impossible to transport Tymoshenko to the room.

At the same time, Pervushkin did not answer why Yatseniuk was not allowed to meet with Tymoshenko in her cell, although earlier members of the European Parliament were allowed to meet with her there.

"Everything is being done according to the legislation," he said.

He added that he has not received an instruction to transport Tymoshenko to court, where a preliminary consideration of the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine Corporation is to take place.

Pervushkin also said he had no information on German doctors’ conclusion regarding possible treatment of Tymoshenko in the Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv.
