The Health Ministry of Ukraine so far cannot make forecasts on the duration of the treatment and rehabilitation of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, according to First Deputy Health Minister Raisa Moiseyenko.
“Speaking about further rehabilitation and treatment procedures, we
cannot give a clear answer as of today, [we’re not sure whether] it will
take one or two weeks, or two weeks plus one day,” she said at a
briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
According to her, the ministry is unable to determine the terms, as
the German doctors from the Charite Clinic in Berlin have not given
specific recommendations on Tymoshenko’s treatment.
She expressed hope that the German doctors would give their recommendations on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Moiseyenko added that Tymoshenko needs a period of rest. She said
that the visits of politicians and MPs and meetings with them that take
three hours are disrupting the ex-prime minister’s rest time.
She also said she hopes that Tymoshenko’s visitors, as well as court
officers, will take into consideration doctors’ recommendations.
