French President Francois Hollande said upon the results of the 'Normandy Quartet' talks in Paris that the elections in the Donbas should be held according to the Ukrainian legislation within 80 days after the enactment of the relevant law.

“Our intention was to ensure the possibility of holding local elections. These elections should be held according to the Ukrainian legislation. Elections should be organized within the framework of the working group in the way that the results of these elections will be indisputable,” he told a press conference in Paris on Oct. 2.

“We urged all the parties concerned to participate in this process. Elections which were envisioned on Oct. 18 in Donetsk Luhansk oblasts cannot be realized unless some concrete agreements are implemented,” Hollande said.

However, elections should be held within the framework of the working groups, this issue will be discussed, he said.

After the voting on the election law is held, these elections should be held within 80 days, Hollande said.
