Social Policy Minister Natalia Korolevska has said that a working group on pension support for Ukrainians has been created.

“We’ve set up a working group in which we involved the public and specialists in order to correct social gaps, social injustice and find the most effective ways to address them,” she said at a press conference on Friday.

“We’ve now prepared documents on the further modernization of pensions, and the pension fund calculates how much money is needed for this. We also proposed raising the pensions for people born during the war by 1%. We understand that this amount is very small, but we are moving on step by step,” she said.

Korolevska said that a plan on further actions on the modernization of the pension system would be presented in the near future.

“Of course, it’s currently hard to survive on this small amount of money,” Korolevska said.

According to her, there are many cases of injustice in the payment of pensions. For example, people who worked all their lives and people did not work a single day receive the same pension, she added.
