You're reading: Opora election monitors: Polling stations asked to re-write vote tallies

Election observers from the Opora monitoring group on Nov. 1 reported from Sumy that results from several polling precincts were being re-written at by higher-level election commissions. Policemen at the scene say their job is to protect public safety, not voting protocols.

The observers have so far not been able to determine whether the alleged violation is in favor of a specific candidate.
