The personal masseuse of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko was allowed to visit the ex-premier in the Kachanivska penal colony (Kharkiv) on Tuesday with her own massage table, the press secretary of the State Penitentiary Service Department in Kharkiv region, Yuriy Chumak, has said.

"Today, at 0900, Yulia Volodymyrivna’s personal masseuse arrived at the colony. She brought her own massage table for the necessary procedures and was admitted by the administration of the facility to carry out massage therapy. This procedure will take several hours," he told reporters in Kharkiv on Tuesday, Jan.17.

Chumak also said that a commission from the Health Ministry of Ukraine was on the territory of the colony to examine Tymoshenko after the massage therapy.

Earlier, the State Penitentiary Service informed that on Monday, January 16, Tymoshenko refused a massage "explaining that the bed provided by the facility did not suit her and said that she needed a professional table."

The penitentiary service said that it was "another groundless reason for Tymoshenko to avoid carrying out the doctors’ recommendations."
