Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is enthusiastic about the rate at which the EU member-states have been ratifying the Association Agreement with Ukraine.

“We can say that the rate at which European states have been ratifying the Association Agreement manifests unconditional support that Ukraine enjoys in the EU,” Poroshenko told journalists in Berlin during a visit to Germany on May 13.

As many 18 European countries have already ratified the agreement, and the rest plan to do so in the near future, he said.

Poroshenko had said earlier that the ratification of the Association Agreement by all EU members would make it possible to start its full implementation.

This primarily concerns the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade area with the EU, which should start fully operating on Jan. 1, 2016, he said.
