It is possible that new local elections could be held in Ukraine after decentralization process is completed, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

“I totally do not rule out that after all Constitution amendments are implemented, other elections to local councils will be needed,” Poroshenko said in Kyiv on July 1 when presenting draft amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution on de-centralization. This will be decided by Verkhovna Rada, he said.
