Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has scrapped the commission for the strengthening of democracy and rule of law.

Poroshenko signed decree No. 96/2015 “On the elimination of certain subsidiary agencies created by Ukrainian President” on Feb. 20.

With the decree Poroshenko eliminated the working group on the reform of laws on administrative offences and the introduction of the institute of misdemeanors, the working group on prosecution agencies and trial attorneys reform, and the working group for preparing suggestions related to land reform.

The same decree annuls the decree on the creation of a commission on strengthening democracy and the rule of law and two decrees related to its activity, as well as three decrees that created the above-mentioned working groups. All of the above were created in 2010-2012 by the fourth president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
