The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine has blocked the personal accounts of the leader of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction, the chairman of Luhansk regional branch of the party, Oleksandr Yefremov, the Luhansk.Kommentarii publication has reported.

According to the publication, Yefremov said at a press conference on Thursday
in Luhansk that he tried to pay with his credit card, but was told that there
was a technical glitch. In the end it turned out that his personal accounts had
been frozen.

“It turns out that we have a state financial monitoring service that has
blocked my accounts because of suspicion of financing terrorism. You do
understand where I am, and where the terrorism is,” the lawmaker said.

Yefremov said that he had these accounts in the bank for 15 years.

“Everything there is so transparent that ten minutes will suffice for anyone
to look and draw relevant conclusions. But, nevertheless, this is what’s being
done,” the politician said.
