The evidence of Ukrainian ex-premier Yulia Tymoshenko's guilt collected during the pre-trial investigation has been confirmed by the court, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka has said.

"I can repeat what the state prosecutors said – together with the court they investigated all the circumstances of the offense. All that was collected as evidence during the preliminary investigation, was then used as evidence in court during the trial," the prosecutor general told reporters on Thursday, commenting on the verdict passed on Tymoshenko by Pechersky District Court.

"All the circumstances were confirmed by the court, and a sentence has been passed. The state prosecutors proposed the measure of punishment to the court. The court agreed and passed its sentence. This is all I have to say," the prosecutor general said.

When asked whether there are grounds for the Court of Appeal to reverse the sentence, Pshonka said: "The law says that an appeal may be lodged within 15 days. The appeal court must consider the appeal within three months. All the parties to the trial have the right to make their comments on the appeal," he said.
