You're reading: Prosecutors checking MP Parubiy’s complaint about injuries caused to him by police on European Square

The prosecutor's office in Kyiv has opened a criminal case on a complaint of MP Andriy Parubiy (Batkivschyna parliamentary faction) about bodily injuries he says he sustained from the police on European Square on the night of Nov. 25.

“The investigatory department of Kyiv’s prosecutor’s office has
started a pre-trial investigation into an appeal by MP Andriy Parubiy on
the police causing him bodily injuries on European Square on the night
of Nov. 25,” the press service f the prosecutor’s office has said.

Parubiy is a supervisor of the tent camp of the activists of the
EuroMaidan rally in support of Ukraine’s integration with Europe on
European Square in central Kyiv.

The head of the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction, Arseniy Yatseniuk,
said earlier that Parubiy was injured in brawls with Berkut riot police
detachments.
