Moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone conversation on Feb. 26, the Kremlin press service reported.

Putin and Nazarbayev “discussed international assistance to a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis based on the agreements reached recently in Minsk and also problems of integration interaction within the Eurasian Economic Union framework,” it said.

The two leaders coordinated their plans for further top-level contacts.

The Kazakh presidential press service reported on Thursday that Nazarbayev and Putin had discussed the current situation in Ukraine, acknowledging that a ceasefire in the conflict zone had been enforced on the whole.

The presidents stressed the importance of implementing the Feb. 12 Minsk agreements to settle the Ukraine crisis. They also considered prospects for Kazakh-Russian cooperation and interaction within the framework of Eurasian economic integration.
