The state of health of former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko has worsened, the wife of the former minister, Iryna Lutsenko, said after visiting him in hospital on Sunday.

"Yura gets up from bed only in rare cases," she said.

The press service of the People’s Self-Defense Party reported that according to Iryna Lutsenko, her husband has lost 21 kilograms in weight.

The former minister’s wife also added that a photo of her husband would immediately dispel all the comments by the prosecutor’s office about the stable state of health of Yuriy Lutsenko.

"Why are they afraid of showing him to all? He currently is the evidence of the crime that the government is committing against him," Iryna Lutsenko said.

The press service of the People’s Self-Defense reported on Sunday it was the 24th day of hunger strike announced by Yuriy Lutsenko to protest against his illegal detention.
