Ukrainian Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko has said he hopes that tough personnel decisions will be taken at an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with the participation of the president on Nov. 2.

"I hope that the toughest personnel decisions will be taken at tomorrow’s meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with the participation of the president," the party’s press service quoted Symonenko as saying on Tuesday.

Symonenko said that the entire social and economic section of the government required fundamental reorganization.

"First and foremost, it’s necessary to immediately dismiss pseudo-reformer [Sergiy] Tigipko, who, lobbying the interests of the IMF and transnational corporations, is acting contrary to the interests of the people and the state," he said.

Symonenko also noted the need to bring order to the real economy, the financial sector, the military-industrial complex, and the sphere of culture.

He drew attention to the need to call to account those governors who are not fulfilling presidential decrees.
