Kharkiv – A meeting between former Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and the party's first deputy in head, Oleksandr Turchynov, was reduced to three hours so that Tymoshenko could have an opportunity to meet with EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira.

“I had to do it voluntarily, as the Penitentiary Service said that if we talked for the entire four hours, Teixeira would have no opportunity to see her,” Turchynov told reporters near Ukrzaliznytsia’s Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 on Wednesday after meeting with Tymoshenko.

He said that they had discussed domestic policy issues and preparations for a congress of the united opposition, which is scheduled for July 31.

At the same time, Turchynov declined to say where the congress would be held, in Kharkiv or Kyiv.
