The Batkivschyna Party has called on Ukrainian citizens to stage peaceful protests to defend their rights.
"The Batkivschyna Party, jointly with the Dictatorship Resistance Committee, supports and initiates the further holding of peaceful protests aimed at protection of the constitutional tights of citizens and prevention of adoption of anti-popular decisions by the current authorities," MP Roman Zabzaliuk said during a plenary sitting of the Ukrainian parliament.
He said the Batkivschyna Party and the BYT-Batkivschyna faction supported the participants of a protest staged outside the Verkhovna Rada building on Tuesday, Sept 20.
A rally against the cancellation of benefits was staged near the Verkhovna Rada on Sept 20 by Afghan war veterans and people who did the cleanup work after the Chornobyl nuclear disaster.
