You're reading: Ukrainian president leaves on official visit to Slovakia

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has left on a one-day official visit to Slovakia to meet with the country's leadership.

During the visit, Yanukovych is to hold a tete-a-tete meeting with his Slovak counterpart Ivan Gasparovic. The talks in an enlarged format will follow the meeting.

After the meeting, the ceremony for signing bilateral documents will take place.

In particular, the parties are to sign five agreements: an agreement on amending the agreement between Ukraine and the government Slovakia on local border movement; agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Slovak Republic on military burials, as well as the agreements on inter-regional cooperation between Dnipropetrovsk region and Bratislava region, between Zaporizhia region and Banska Bystrica region, between Kharkiv region and Trnava region.

The Ukrainian president will also meet with Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova during a working lunch.
